The Elmira Heights Fire Department
is comprised of 45 firefighters on a
paid and volunteer status. EHFD
protects 8,500 residents within a
three square-mile radius. During any
given workday this population
triples. A large percentage of the
fire-suppression district is comprised
of heavy industry. A developed
section of state route 14, also known
as "The Miracle Mile", runs through
the district as well.
